DX defended the titles against Jeri-Show the next day at The Slammy Awards but only to get themselves disqualified by pushing over the referee moments after the match started. On the March 1 episode of Raw they lost their rematch for the titles which would be their last televised match before Michaels retired. Michaels and Triple H had a non-wrestling reunion at the Tribute to the Troops. This would set up a rematch at Extreme Rules. On the same night Triple H suffered a torn biceps muscle. He defeated Alberto Del Rio in a singles match. Later on in the night, during the John Cena and Kane match The Nexus interfered then a few minutes later, the whole locker room including Triple H came to attack them.
A week later he put Sheamus through the announce table with a Pedigree, in retaliation for Sheamus giving him a month injury. Though a new champion was crowned, Triple H helped resign CM Punk and upheld both championship reigns.
Although he counted a pinfall for CM Punk to win, John Cena's leg was on the ropes which would break the pin. After repeated attacks from these wrestlers in various matches, the majority of WWE's on-screen staff gave Triple H a vote of no confidence.
During the match, Nash once again attacked him and did so the following night on the October 24 Raw , hospitalizing him. WWE later announced that Triple H sustained a fractured vertebrae which would remove him from television until his return on December 12, as part of the Slammy Awards. Before he could announce the decision, he was interrupted by the returning Undertaker. After initially refusing the rematch as he did not want to tarnish Undertaker's legacy, Triple H accepted the challenge after being called a coward who lives in Shawn Michaels' shadow, on the condition their rematch be contested inside Hell in a Cell.
After Brock breaking his arm, Triple H addresses about Brock Lesnar's career and his return on Raw only to be interrupted by Paul Heyman who gives him the lawsuit due to Brock's financial problems on the company especially when he assaults him.
Paul warns him to see him in court. In June 18, during the off-air on Raw after John Cena defeated John Laurinaitis on the main event and before Lesnar accepted his challenge at SummerSlam, he was present along with Cena and Zack Ryder were having fun on humiliating Laurinaitis as he joked at both of them for slapping him.
He was the last person to land a powerful slap on Laurinaitis' back with both hands after being slapped in the back by both Cena and Ryder and finally took him down with a Pedigree as a retaliation for disrespecting him in the previous year.
Eight nights later on Raw, Triple H announced he would be retiring from in-ring competition. The fight resulted in Lesnar's head being split open, which required 18 stitches. After signing the contract Lesnar would appear and save Heyman.
Heyman then would announce that Triple H has signed a contract that states that if Triple H loses to Brock Lesnar he must retire.
After the match, Triple H was also cleared of a broken arm. After he ended the feud with Brock Lesnar and prior on turning heel in Daniel Bryan's match at SummerSlam, Triple H finally shaves his signature long dark blond hair into a semi-bald but retains wearing both his casual and corporate attire as part of his gimmick with his wife Stephanie. But when Curtis gives him bad remarks, Triple H knocks him with a slap as he states that he will fight him in a one-on-one match.
Once he defeated him, he will take down Paul Heyman. Despite his confidence to beat Curtis in a match, Triple H collapsed in dizziness and exhaustion, unable to finish the match causing him to take a seat outside of the ring and was given medical attention by both referee and officials and was taken to the infirmary. In June 3, , his wife Stephanie announces his condition after his battle with Brock Lesnar in Extreme Rules and his battle with Curtis Axel went into a halt after being collapsed from his dizziness and exhaustion.
Stephanie made an executive decision that Triple H is not allowed to compete, much to the audience's criticism especially to his father in-law Vince McMahon. Triple H later arrives at Vince's office and he tells Stephanie that he can compete but Stephanie became worried on his condition as both argue but was stopped by Vince.
Both Triple H and Stephanie's argument leads him to feud with Vince. As Triple H leaves the arena with his wife, he tells her to tell her father Vince that he has to compete in the ring to face Curtis Axel before driving off to his car, vowing to face Curtis. When Stephanie was away, Vince gave him the match against Curtis but Triple H initially refused until his wife arrived to make him and Vince take a group hug.
Later when he accepted Vince's announcement to face Curtis, Triple H became infuriated on Vince's previous remarks during their argument which was considered an embarrassment as Stephanie begged him not to hurt her father but Triple H told her to talk to her father before she left the scene while he angrily threw a towel to the floor. But in his match with Curtis Axel, Vince intervened to make a powerplay just to further embarrass Triple H by announcing Curtis' win via disqualification and forfeit without fighting each other in the ring as Vince rang the bell so that Triple H won't restart the match which he had done twice.
After the show, Stephanie angrily confronted her father Vince after what he did to Triple H's match against Curtis Axel that turned into a huge embarrassment. To the surprise of the audience, Triple H hit the Pedigree on Daniel Bryan and helped Orton win the match and the WWE Championship, therefore turning heel for the first time since Over the coming weeks, he set up handicap matches against any wrestlers who questioned his decisions, such as Big Show and Dolph Ziggler , even firing Cody Rhodes in retaliation for the latter's insolence.
On the October 7 edition of Raw , he was knocked out by Big Show and had to be carried out by the officials out of the arena. Later during the main event, Triple H and Stephanie attempted to prevent Bryan from winning the title and recruited Scott Armstrong as a crooked referee, but were unsuccessful as Bryan made Batista tap out.
After their loss, Vince McMahon faces both him and his daughter Stephanie in disappointment knowing of their crooked actions. Triple H angrily blames Sting for his interference until Brock Lesnar arrives to take down The Authority including Rollins but he escaped the premises with Jamie Noble. On January 26 , it was officially announced via WWE. Before his match against Sting, he and his wife Stephanie had a short feud with The Rock and Ronda Rousey which resulted in a brawl as he was taken down by Rousey before facing his wife.
Triple H maintains his antagonistic side along with his wife Stephanie throughout until some of his colleagues from The Authority begin to oppose them such as Kane when he poses between both his corporate and demon appearance to ambush Seth Rollins. In August 24, before the Night of Champions , Triple H and Stephanie are present with Seth Rollins to gave them his surprise gift who turned out to be Sting much to their horrible shock as he backs away with his wife before Sting attacks Rollins.
Later, the real statue of Rollins used to surprise both Triple H and Stephanie was pushed and crushed into the garbage truck by Sting on September 7's episode. After Night of Champions, Triple H and Stephanie confront Kane when they had an investigation after the last night's episode where he ambushed Seth Rollins in his demon appearance before she announces their match at Hell in the Cell which if Kane loses, his corporate appearance will be relieved on his duties as Director of Operations.
Stephanie demands Kane to give his demon mask back but Kane claims it was missing. When Kane leaves the office, Triple H became angrily suspicious on his actions. Therefore, he and Stephanie were running late as they had a phone call with Kane in the next episode where he made a main event against Seth Rollins in a Lumberjack Match. In October 19 before Hell in the Cell, he along with his wife Stephanie and Seth Rollins watching the ambush of Roman Reigns and the Wyatt Family until Shawn Michaels arrive after Rollins interrupts his speech where he decides to team up both his former teammates from The Shield against them.
In the next night, Triple H and Stephanie entertained Rollins in most of his victory against his opponents until Roman Reigns intervenes them who later became the No 1. Contender after winning the Fatal 4-Way Match. On November 9, Rollins was no longer the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as stated by Triple H and the championship belt became vacant after he was forced to relinquish the title due to the knee injury sustained in his match against Kane when he announces a tournament for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on that night's main event to determine the winner of the championship belt.
He even asked Roman Reigns to 'sell out' the belt but he refused knowing that he would enter the tournament for the World Heavyweight Championship title on his own. Afterwards, he approaches both Antonio Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio as the tournament he had made last week continues. Triple H angrily faces Reigns as he informs him about the cheap shot he had made at the Survivor Series as he allows Sheamus and Rusev ambush Reigns.
On the next right, He and Stephanie intervene Roman Reigns along with Dean Ambrose and the Usos about the championship title which he tells him that the belt doesn't belong to him as they wanted to retrieve it back which he did. Later, Triple H informs Ambrose after winning Intercontinental Champion match against Kevin Owens about Reigns because if Reigns loses to Sheamus in a in a Championship match his title will be lost.
While recovering from the injuries, he was mentioned by his wife Stephanie who slaps Reigns several times in the next night on Raw leading Roman Reigns to defeat Sheamus to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the tonight's main event.
Triple H made a tweet on Raw on December 28, where he and fellow WWE superstars mourn his close friend Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, the main vocalist of the band Motorhead who passed away from various illness as he was the one who composed most of Triple H's opening songs in WWE.
They made a special tribute to Lemmy by playing two of Triple H's opening songs composed by him. In January 25 on Raw, Triple H finally addresses his win on the Royal Rumble while he was with Stephanie and Vince on the ring as Stephanie announces the main event for Fastlane as the winner of the main event will face him at WrestleMania He later defeated Dolph Ziggler in a match made by his wife Stephanie when Ziggler demanded another match while fed up with The Authority.
As mentioned by Stephanie, Triple H continued his corporate duties in WWE in his absence on the March 21 episode as Reigns knows his reasons of his absence. However Triple H was present in the parking lot where he fetched his wife until Reigns halted the limousine car, dragging him outside to have a brawl much to Stephanie's horror until Triple H knocked Reigns and quickly got inside the limousine and escape.
On the next night, Triple H announced that he would retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but only to have a brawl with Reigns as he quickly escaped along with his wife. Rollins later blamed his wife Stephanie for his interference. Throughout October 3, and January 30, on Raw, he was mentioned a few times by Rollins when he frequently confronts his wife Stephanie after his interference in the previous Raw's main event until Stephanie angrily warns Rollins that Triple H was coming to get him.
Triple H later arrived to address the audience about his reasons of his interference during last August 29, 's main event on Raw until the arrival of Rollins before being ambushed by Samoa Joe as Triple H looked on the battered Rollins before walking away, allowing Joe to beat him down and knocking him unconscious into the ring using the Coquina Clutch. Joe's powerful assault also reinjures Rollins who gained an MCL injury.
On February 27, , Triple H and Samoa Joe interrupted the interview of an injured Seth Rollins after he decided not to compete at WrestleMania 33 while he angrily confronts him for injuring him the previous night. Triple H has many reasons for his actions in last year's main event on Raw and he continued to mock Rollins as he challenges him at WrestleMania 33 which Rollins angrily accepted wanted to take him down as they both glare each other despite his injury. Two weeks later on Raw, Triple H confronted Raw's General Manager Mick Foley after he insulted his wife as he threatens about his family and relieved him on his duties as General Manager.
During the brawl, Triple H was given a upper hand from Rollins but he hits his knee injury with his own sling as a weapon several times after he makes a cheer to the audience and further injuring his knee by locking in submission with a Figure four leglock before the referee and officials arrive to stop him. Afterwards, he walks away in the ring, allowing the referee and officials to assist Rollins from his knee injury which the latter refused to get help during the end of the show.
On the next night, Triple H and Rollins signed a contract for their Non-Sanctioned Match at WrestleMania 33 which he signs after he remarked that he beats him. After he signs the contract due to his remarks, Triple H hit his knee injury as a cheap shot as they brawl.
Before Triple H could Pedigree Rollins, he retaliated by throwing him out of the ring as he carries his sling as he hits him twice as the two would face each other at WrestleMania Despite the distraction made by his wife several times, he almost bumped Stephanie during the match as Rollins hit him with a kick to knock his wife into the table and ends up defeated by Rollins with his signature Pedigree thus ending their feud.
Triple H quickly announces that he himself as the last and final member of Team Raw instead of Angle's son Jason Jordan leading him to hit Jordan with a Pedigree. At the Survivor Series, He helped Team Raw against Team SmackDown Live to win the 5 on 5 Elimination Match by defeating his brother in-law Shane after eliminating most of his team only to be hit by two power slams by Braun Strowman when he tried to congratulate him for their victory.
On November 20 after the Survivor Series, he angrily faces Angle after he betrays him during the elimination match as Jordan arrives and angrily demands a match against him for hitting him with a Pedigree in the previous night until the arrival of Strowman as both angrily faced each other before he leaves the ring when Stephanie announces both Strowman and Jordan in a singles match.
As currently stated by Angle about their previous feud with her and The Rock on WrestleMania XXXI and their manipulations in Raw which results him being taken down to the table by Rousey leading Stephanie to slap her before running away from getting attacked by her.
But on February 26, Triple H lets his wife Stephanie to apologize to Rousey for slapping her but only for Rousey demands a retribution, refusing to accept her apology but Angle stops her. When Stephanie angrily attempts to slap Angle, Rousey blocked her slap only for Triple H to make a brawl with Angle which results him getting hurt from his Ankle Lock while Stephanie was dragged by Rousey and knocks her with a powerbomb.
Triple H made a cheap shot on Angle and watches Stephanie threw Rousey onto the table as a retribution for knocking him off the table during the contract signing in Elimination Chamber. The following week, Angle revealed that although Triple H and Stephanie were WWE executives, they also had contracts to compete as wrestlers. Following the announcement, it was also announced Triple H would return to in-ring competition at Super Show-Down to take on renowned nemesis, The Undertaker , one last time.
Triple H added that the tagline of this contest would be "Last Time Ever". As a senior advisor, Levesque was placed in charge of a new talent development department in , focusing on worldwide recruitment, training and character development of future WWE employees. Later in , he started dating Stephanie McMahon and they married on October 25 , He has a sister named Lynn. In late , Levesque released a book entitled Making the Game: Triple H's Approach to becoming a professional body builder.
Mostly devoted to bodybuilding advice, the book also includes some autobiographical information, memoirs, and opinions. In Levesque's role as an executive senior adviser was officially formalized as he was given an office at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Hall's character, a psychic, touches Triple H while he lounges beside a pool and has a vision of him falling asleep in the sun, and fellow wrestler John Cena slapping Triple H's sunburned back and leaving a handprint.
He has also appeared in commercials for bodybuilding supplements such as Stacker 2 and YJ Stinger. Levesque appeared in the movie, Blade: Trinity, as a vampire enforcer named Jarko Grimwood. He was also featured in the August 14, episode of MTV's Punk'd in which he was led to believe that he had ruined a wedding by hitting the bride in the face with a door and damaging her nose until Ashton Kutcher and Stacy Keibler showed up.
