As I said I have used this exact perm on my hair and Olgilvie is a pro when it comes to home perms and when you follow the instructions exactly the perms turn out great. Answer: It depends. If you have short hair, your hair grows a half inch a month so if you cut the perm off you cam probably perm every 3 months. I have below shoulder length hair so I perm about every months. Just remember perm over permed hair will be dry and crunchy. Gauge your own hair, but this perm is the best I have found.
Question: Is there a Smell Answer: It is a strong ammonia smell - make sure you cover your nose and mouth when using. The perm comes out very nicely. But with this perm for normal hair not dyed or highlighted you must time it for your hair and desired results with the test curl or previous experience.
