I also, made a switch for the fuse. We've looked at the '17s but it doesn't come with Apple Play and my DW has that feature as a "must have".
Excellent toad. No water or moisture problems. The other issue I had with drilled the taillight assemblies for the Equinox was the housings are rather thick hollow cast and the bulb did not position well in the reflector.
The diode harness I used had connectors installed so all I had to do was disconnect the connector to the taillight, plug in the harness between the connectors and then run the wiring to the front. I've been towing a Terrain awd 6cyl. The main problem I have is the battery goes dead after towing mor than say 6 hrs without starting it. Yes, this is occurring even after I pull the fuse and not even using the brake buddy.
I probably won't last more than 4 hrs with the brake buddy plugged in. I had a trickle charger installed, but it still goes dead after a full day of towing. GM has been no help at all. Next trip I'm just going to unhook the negative cable. Other than that, it tows well.
I used the road master baseplate kit that has the removable cylinders like the Blue ox. It gives you a very clean look when you remove them.
Also I used a light kit I got from etrailer that is designed to fit the terrain. Super easy to install. No cutting or drilling. Originally Posted by lanerd.

I haven't had a problem with the battery going dead on my If you're worried then do as I did and add a battery charge line from the coach to the car. My connection includes a battery hot wire, left turn, right turn, tail lights, ground and an additional wire that illuminates a light on the coach dashboard to tell me the brake pedal was depressed in the car.
